Set up ViewMeld in minutes
This is the shortest path from install to a working cross-computer workflow.
Setup checklist
Work through these steps in order on the machines you want to control.
- Install ViewMeld on each Windows or macOS machine you want to control.
- If one of your machines is a Mac, open System Settings and allow ViewMeld under Accessibility and Screen Recording before you start sharing input.
- Open the layout editor and place every monitor where it sits on your desk.
- Start pairing on one machine and enter the 6-digit code on the other.
- Confirm the connection and test cursor flow in each direction.
- Copy text or an image on one machine and paste it on the other to confirm clipboard sync.
macOS permissions
If one of your machines is a Mac, there is one extra step after installation.
Open System Settings and allow ViewMeld under Accessibility and Screen Recording before you start sharing input. If those permissions are missing, setup may look complete but control will not behave correctly on macOS.
If something feels off
The first setup issue is usually layout or network related, not the core desktop workflow.
If cursor movement does not line up with your real desk, revisit the display layout before you troubleshoot anything else. If the machines cannot find each other, continue with the local network checklist. If the devices are visible but pairing does not complete, use the pairing guide.

Local network checklist
